What we clean

Six things we do, and do fully.

Every fabric takes a different method. Velvet is not wool, wool is not a synthetic pile, and a suede-look suite will mark permanently if it is treated like a carpet. Tell us what you have and we will tell you exactly how it gets handled.

Carpets & rugs

Hot-water extraction that lifts the grit sitting below the pile — the part a vacuum never reaches.

  • Traffic-lane and stain treatment
  • Pet accidents and odour at the source
  • Wool, synthetic and Persian-safe methods
  • Furniture moved and put back

Lounge suites & upholstery

Arms, headrests and seat cushions carry years of body oil. It comes out, and the colour usually comes back with it.

  • Fabric, suede-look and velvet
  • Headrest and armrest grime
  • Odour neutralised, not perfumed
  • Fabric protector applied on request

Mattresses

You spend a third of your life on it and it has probably never been cleaned. This is the one people are most surprised by.

  • Dust-mite and allergen treatment
  • Sweat and body-soil extraction
  • Both sides, plus the base on request
  • Sanitising finish before we leave

Curtains & blinds

Curtains hold more dust than anything else in a room because nothing ever disturbs them.

  • On-rail cleaning where the fabric allows
  • Take-down, clean and re-hang
  • Roman blinds and fabric verticals
  • Sun-weakened fabric handled gently

Vehicle interiors

Full interior detail on the fabric side — the seats, the carpets, the boot and the parts that hold the smell.

  • Seats, floor carpets and boot lining
  • Headliner and door panels
  • Smoke, milk and pet odour
  • Child-seat and spill damage

Offices & commercial

Reception carpets and staff chairs age a workplace faster than the furniture does. We work around your hours.

  • Office chairs and fabric partitions
  • Walkway and reception carpets
  • After-hours and weekend scheduling
  • Scheduled maintenance arrangements
How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

The part most people worry about is the price changing on the day. It does not. What we quote after the assessment is what you pay.

Send us a message

Tell us what needs cleaning and which suburb you are in. A photo helps but is not required.

Free assessment

We look at the fabric, the size and the condition, then give you one honest price and an honest expectation of the result.

We clean, in your home

We bring the equipment. Furniture gets moved and put back, floors get protected, and we clear up behind us.

Dry and back in use

Most fabrics are touch-dry within a few hours. We tell you exactly how long before we start, so you can plan the day.

What we treat

The things you cannot vacuum out.

A vacuum takes the surface. Everything below is what makes a room smell tired and a mattress feel heavy.

Dust mitesThey live in mattresses and upholstery and are one of the most common household triggers for asthma and eczema.
Set-in stainsWine, coffee, ink, blood and the mystery ones. Treated by stain type, not with one spray for everything.
OdoursPets, smoke, damp and sweat. Neutralised at the source rather than covered with fragrance.
Pet hair & danderAgitated out of the pile before extraction, instead of being vacuumed over and left behind.
Traffic lanesThe grey path feet wear through a carpet. In most cases it is soil, not damage, and it lifts.
Allergens & bacteriaA sanitising treatment for homes with allergies, small children, or someone recovering from illness.
Why Maishire

Fabric is all we do.

Here since 2018

This industry has a lot of one-season operators with a machine and a bakkie. We have been cleaning fabric in Johannesburg since 2018 and we will still be reachable next year.

One price, agreed first

We assess, we quote, and that is the number. No add-ons discovered halfway through, and no charge if you decide not to go ahead.

The right method for the fabric

Wool, velvet, linen, suede-look and synthetics all behave differently under water and heat. Using one method on all of them is how suites get ruined.

We leave it tidy

Furniture back where it was, floors dry, packaging gone. You should not have to clean up after a cleaning company.

Where we work

Across greater Johannesburg.

We are a mobile service — everything happens at your address, so there is nothing to drop off and nothing to collect.

Not on the list? Message us anyway. We travel further for larger jobs and for several homes booked on the same day.

Questions

The things people ask before booking.

What does it cost?

It depends on size, fabric and condition, which is why we assess before we quote rather than reading a number off a list. Message us with what you need and roughly how big it is and we will give you a realistic range straight away, then confirm the exact price at the assessment.

How long does it take to dry?

Most upholstery and carpet is touch-dry within two to six hours depending on the fabric, the humidity and the airflow in the room. Mattresses are usually ready to sleep on the same night. We tell you the expected time before we start, not after.

Will the stain definitely come out?

Not always, and anyone who promises otherwise is guessing. Dye stains, bleach damage and sun fading are permanent changes to the fibre. Almost everything else — food, drink, body oil, pet accidents, general soil — lifts or improves significantly. We will tell you honestly which one yours is at the assessment.

Do you use my water and electricity?

Yes, a standard plug point and a tap are all we need, and the usage is small. If your building or complex has a restriction, tell us when you book and we will arrange around it.

How much notice do you need?

Message us and we will tell you the soonest we can be there. Same-week is usually possible; month-end and the run-up to holidays book up faster, so give us more notice then if you can.

Do I need to move the furniture first?

No. We move what needs moving and put it back where it was. If there is anything fragile or valuable in the room, just point it out when we arrive and we will work around it.

Is it safe for children and pets?

The treatments we use are chosen to be safe for a household once dry, and we will tell you how long to keep the room clear. If anyone in the home has an allergy or a sensitivity, mention it when you book and we will adjust what we use.

Let us look at it first.

The assessment is free and there is no obligation after it. Worst case you find out what it would cost.
